Our Story

Built in Suriname

Established in Suriname, we have set up our sawnmill, which serves as the core of our operations. This connection has been forged through years of dedication and the development of sustainable relationships with local suppliers and concession holders.

Collaboration with SBB

An important link in our sustainable approach is our relationship with the Foundation for Forest Management and Forest Supervision (SBB) in Suriname. SBB ensures the safety of the forest and local communities, promotes the preservation of the ecosystem, and supports the sustainable production of wood products.

Through the SFISS program (Forest Fiscal Information and Sustainability System), we can trace the sustainability of our products, from harvesting to sale. This process consists of several steps:

  1. The concession holder creates a harvesting plan in SFISS.
  2. The trees to be harvested are assigned a unique tree number.
  3. These tree numbers are linked to labels in SFISS.
  4. The logs are transported to our sawmill in Suriname with a label and transport document.
  5. At the sawmill, the logs are made into packages.
  6. These packages are labeled in SFISS.
  7. Ultimately, the packages can be traced back to the original trees that were harvested.

Wood for the local market

In addition to our export activities, we also contribute to the local market in Suriname. We are seeing an increasing demand for wood for various projects in the country, which plays an important role in Suriname's economic development.

By supplying local timber, we not only support the construction sector but also stimulate the growth of local businesses and projects. Our wood products are of high quality and meet the needs of the Surinamese market.
